About Us
COMPETITIVE PR4 was originally located in the California Pharmacists Association. Since August 2004, prescribers have been buying controlled-substance Rx blanks from us following the change in California law that, as of January 1, 2005, required state-approved prescription blanks for Schedule II, III, IV, and V controlled-substance prescriptions.
CPR4 was inspired by a series of meetings and events involving the Medi-Cal Fraud Prevention Bureau, former fraud-prevention specialist FBI agents, Pharmaceutical Care Network (now National Medical Health Card Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: NMHC)), the California Medical Association, and the California Pharmacists Association. Our controlled-substance Rx blanks have an easy-to-verify security feature that is unavailable elsewhere. Our production team holds 16 document security patents, specializes in fraud prevention for many industries, and produces voting materials, checks, and negotiable and other documents for companies and governments across the United States and around the world.
CPR4 provides the top-level security required to ensure Rx blanks reach only intended recipients. CPR4’s founder, Jim Wigney, has 25 years experience in the commercial printing and business process management industries, serving in production and sales roles at Color West Lithography, DST Output, EDS, and Standard Register. He has published articles about California’s complex prescribing law requirements through the California Pharmacists Association and other health care organizations.
